About us:
The Emerald Coast Church Network (ECCN) is a Network of Southern Baptist Churches along the Emerald Coast in the Panhandle of Florida. We are located in: Cinco Bayou, Crestview, Destin, Eglin AFB, Freeport, Fort Walton Beach, Niceville, Mary Esther, Miramar Beach, Santa Rosa Beach, Shalimar, Wright, and Valparaiso

The ECCN began as the Choctaw Baptist Association. The organizational session of the Choctaw Baptist Association meeting was held on October 28, 1958, at First Baptist Church, Destin, Florida. A motion was made that all members of the Cinco, Central, Destin First, Ft. Walton Beach First, Niceville First, Ocean City First, Valparaiso First, and Wright Southern Baptist Churches constitute the body of the Choctaw Baptist Association. The motion carried, and the Choctaw Association was born. Rev. R.G. Bloodworth was elected as the first Moderator. 232 people were present.

In the early days of the Association, the Home Mission Board provided funds for a Field Secretary or District Missionary. He served as director of the association. In 1984 the Choctaw Association called its first full-time Director of Missions, Rev. Richard Martin. Rev. Martin retired in April 1999 and the Association called Dr. Hershel Adams as Director of Missions. In 2006, the Crossroads Center Medical Clinic began on Mar Walt Drive in Ft. Walton Beach, and in February 2009, the Crossroads Clinic relocated to its current location on the Valparaiso First Baptist campus (now the Cornerstone Worship Center). At the annual meeting in 2009, the name of the association was changed to Emerald Coast Fellowship of Baptist Churches (ECFBC).

In 2013, Dr. Heshel Adams retired as DOM, and Dr Roy Saint was called to be the part-time DOM. In 2017 discussion began about a radical reorganization of the ECFBC. On April 1, 2018, the ECFBC was formally dissolved, and On April 10, 2018, the Emerald Coast Church Network was formally organized with Dr Steven Davies as Coordinator and Pastor James Ross as Vice Coordinator. The New Constitution and Bylaws were adopted on August 28, 2018. Dr Roy Saint retired that year, and ECCN had no paid employees. In 2024, the ECCN called Pastor Doug Fannon as their first paid (part-time) Director/administrator of the ECCN.
